Prospectus

Olde Towne Retail and Office Center is looking for a unique sculpture to grace its outdoor public space. Located in Ridgeland , Mississippi the Olde Towne Center is at the heart of Madison County 's growing retail and business community.

The sculpture will be located on a concrete base that is seven feet in diameter and two feet high. The base is located on a raised outdoor promenade in front of a popular retail establishment.

Artists, 18 years and older, are invited to submit existing sculptures for consideration. Existing works may be in any medium but must be weather and vandal resistant and not hazardous to the public. Works must have a base or system of tabs that will allow it to be easily and securely bolted to the existing base. Work must sit on the existing concrete base that is 7 foot in diameter and 2 feet high.

Insurance for the value of the work will be provided. Installation costs will be covered. The artist is responsible for the delivery of an existing work that is installation ready. The artist will be required to send an installation template or be available to direct the installation team if needed.

There is a $2,000 honorarium; the loan is from 12 to 18 months. Priority will be given to submissions received prior to May 14, 2010. Installation will be in early June 2010.

There is no entry fee. Artists may submit up to 3 works for review. To submit work artists must email two images of an existing work, with size, medium and date information for each work, as well as a two-page CV. Only .pdf and .jpg files will be accepted. No individual file may be larger than 1MB. Send more than one email if necessary, please put “RidgelandSculpture” in the subject line. Jpg images must be no larger than 72 DPI and around nine (9) inches in the largest dimension (around 650 pixels). CD's and slides will not be accepted.
